The first of these was Barry's Bootcamp, which I'm sure you will have heard of. I tried their ''arms & abs class."
There is one studio in which all of the classes take place. The room is dimly lit, with loud, clubbing music blasting out. The perfect atmosphere to get in the zone and get a great workout done. As there was a lot of people in the class, half of us went on the treadmills, whilst the other half did weights on the floor.
We started on the treadmill for a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) blast. We began by jogging on 5.5mph, and then we would sprint on 8-10 mph, or even faster if you're really hardcore. We did 30 seconds of each interval sprint and did this 3 times, gradually increasing our speed every time, and then jogging for 30 seconds to recover. The trainer is really motivational, and ensures that everyone is pulling their weight.
We then swapped over with the group on the mats for the following 15 minutes. The women had to use a 7.5 kg weight (heavier than I ever ever lifted before!) whilst the men had to use 12.5-15 kg.
